New UK PVC-U window system
Eclectic Systems is a newly formed bespoke systems house. Headed up by Dan Gill, Managing Director of sister company Window Widgets, this venture has just invested £1.2m in the new Residence 9 window and door system. This includes a turnkey extrusion package from Austrian tooling experts Greiner and an in-house foiling line.
Residence 9 is a window and door system aimed at the Heritage markets and has nine chambers, 100mm frame depth and just three main profiles.
While the vast majority of the replacement market is made up of white profiles, Residence 9 will only be available in foiled heritage colours, eight initially and these will be available both inside and out.
The Residence 9 system is internally beaded and can be either welded or mechanically jointed, the latter already proving to be more preferable to the initial network of regional fabricators.
The nine chambers and 100mm frame depth also combine to deliver a 1.2 W/(m2K) U-value with a standard double glazed unit and a 0.8 U-value for a standard triple glazed unit, the latter without the need for foam inserts and other ancillary additions. The sections also remove the requirement for reinforcement in many instances, so fabricators can cut, mill and join the corners to complete a window using low cost machinery.
Dan Gill, Managing Director of Eclectic Systems comments: "This is genuine innovation in PVC-U window and door systems. Residence 9 is the first luxury PVC-U system ever to be launched in the industry and for the first time, PVC-U will be able to take on timber in the UK's most prestigious locations, including the 9,000 conservation areas around the country."
